About

Let’s be honest. Interviewing people is long. You lose an entire day’s work asking the same questions over and over, and at the end of it all there’s still no guarantee that the winning candidate is going to be great at the job. Done right, interviews are a great way to find the perfect fit for a vacancy; done wrong, and you’ll have a gaping hole where a person should be, or, worse still, the wrong person altogether. In this session, we’ll show you how to do interviews in a way that actually tests candidate’s competencies, so you can throw out the crystal balls, spidey senses, and any other gut-feel decisions that are currently dictating who joins your team. You'll love this course if: - You’ve been dreaming of a better way to do interviews (or having nightmares about your current interview process – either side of the coin will do); - You hate being asked to sit on interview panels and secretly pray you’ll be struck with a 24-hour sickness that means you won’t have to do it; - You’ve been in too many interviews where the final decision has essentially come down to which panellist has shouted the loudest and you’re absolutely sick of it; - You want to use interviews to confidently find the right candidate and avoid having to re-hire (because of course, that would mean yet more interviews…) You’ll leave the session with: - An understanding of different interview techniques and how they impact on choosing the right candidate for a role (we’ll even show you some research so you can go back to work and look really clever); - Drag-and-drop templates for writing interview questions and scoring frameworks; - Some quick, back-of-your-pocket comebacks to challenge your fellow panellists when they’re making decisions like crazy people. You definitely won’t enjoy this training (but probably still need it) if: - You’re happy with your current interview processes and don’t want to change a thing; - You’re one of the “gut feel” types that likes to make hiring decisions based o
